Orchestra at Czech Television

Filming a professional orchestra recording session at Czech Television in Prague. The production involved capturing a live orchestral performance with multiple camera operators while maintaining the visual rhythm and atmosphere of the music being performed.

For this recording, I coordinated a team of five camera operators, ensuring that each camera covered specific elements of the orchestra—from wide cinematic shots of the full ensemble to close-ups of musicians, instruments, and the conductor. The goal was to visually translate the energy and emotion of the music into a dynamic and engaging video experience.

The session was organized for a client visiting from the United States, who required high-quality visual documentation of the orchestral score being recorded. My role included production coordination, camera planning, operator management, and ensuring smooth communication between the production team and the client throughout the shoot.

Filming orchestras requires a careful approach, as the camera movement and shot selection must complement the flow, tempo, and emotion of the music. Using multiple cameras allowed us to capture both the grandeur of the full orchestra and the intricate performances of individual musicians, creating visually rich material suitable for music productions, film scores, promotional material, and archival recordings.
